Well, was no ordinary year. For this Fourth of July, we had something extra special to celebrate. Nightly fireworks returned to Disneyland Park.
The Mickey's Mix Magic show returned nightly beginning July 4, This show has lasers, projection, pyrotechnics and a soundtrack that will have you dancing in the streets. It's a good, good, good, good time! We'll be celebrating 67 years of Disneyland in ! There are usually special souvenirs available on that day, and some people choose to dress dapper for the occasion.
You may expect a birthday cavalcade or other form of entertainment with many Disney characters at points throughout the day. You may be able to take pictures holding birthday signs. Some people try to attend every year despite the crowds. Even though Disneyland does not actively promote this day except on large anniversary years , everyone seems to be hopping in droves to the park to join this birthday party.
If you plan to attend this day, arrive early and expect typical summer crowds. Once it's allowed to hoppen , this party allows you to use the Force after Disneyland Park closes.
The separately ticketed event was supposed to fall on opening night of the Star Wars Celebration, a fan convention that was to place at the Anaheim Convention Center Aug. However, that event has been rescheduled for , and the Star Wars Nite will be rescheduled.
Fans may access the park beginning at 6 p. The event will likely kick off at 9 p. Note that times may change when rescheduled. Entertainment includes a special Star Wars —themed fireworks spectacular, galactic dance parties, character encounters and more. We are scheduled to go on November 8th and 9th. Aside from the holiday decor transitioning from Halloween to Christmas, the Haunted Mansion overlay will remain.
This is when you might spot Halloween decorations in one part of the park and Christmas decorations in another, or when you may see Christmas decorations pop up overnight. While official holiday festivities won't start until Nov. Villains Nite is being rescheduled for a later date; we'll be sure to update as soon as that's released! Guests who currently hold a ticket for Villains Nite can automatically use their ticket for the rescheduled event.
Guests who no longer wish to hold their current ticket may call for assistance. Hope this helps! There usually are not fireworks every night.
In , the Halloween Screams projection show played every night with fireworks adding to the show Friday through Sunday. We will have more detailed information come summer, so stay tuned! Does The World of Color show change around Halloween time or does it stay the same? One time I went around Christmas time and the show was totally different from the summer time. My husband and I will be visiting Disneyland in mid September. This was exclusive to party guests, but all guests at Disneyland could enjoy the special Halloween-themed fireworks.
On non-party nights, the normal World of Color takes place. In the past has DL stopped it's parade between Halloween and Christmas? We're thinking of going first week in November but I really want there to be a parade when we go. This year is hard to say because there is a brand-new parade, which will bring a lot more viewers than an older parade did! Check the schedule six weeks before your visit.

January 28 looks to be a really great day to visit, with low crowds. Magic Happens is debuting on February 28, which is a Friday - we expect higher crowds that day and would opt for Monday or Tuesday of the following week if you were visiting at that time. However, the Haunted Mansion event was a somewhat private event put on by a group outside of Disney that took place after hours, so it was not well advertised and not available on Disneyland sites. Christmas time traditionally starts on a Friday, although in , it began on Thursday Nov. We have booked a trip November , if that turns out to be the first weekend of the Holiday Season what are the crowds typically like? Def want to go during the Christmas time there though. You can have short lines and an uncrowded experience—great for getting that perfect castle photo! The bad news is that Haunted Mansion will likely be closed and there probably will not be fireworks. While that part is sad, there is still so much to do in your one day in the park.

Probably not Christmas or Halloween per se, but something similar? The Haunted Mansion should be back from its overlay removal sometime in mid-January. It was closed from Jan. Just wondering if you have a list of race weekends? The last time we were at Disneyland we unknowingly booked it on a race through the park weekend and it was significantly more crowded, especially during the coveted early morning entry.
As of right now, there are no races scheduled for the Disneyland Resort; all races now take place at Disney World. Do you know if theres a special ticket for December 31? Not sure if you read the part where there is an after hours even about the haunted mansion. Author should have posted that out. Nothing has been announced yet, but in the past, Disneyland has celebrated anniversaries with special merchandise, photo props and buttons.
We are going May Do you know if this show is continuing? We have not heard anything about the show being discontinued, but we'll keep our eyes and ears open! Disneyland tends to release the showtimes incrementally, so we recommend continuing to check back with the entertainment schedule.
Hello, we are going to Disneyland April 29th to May 3rd. I see now that there are two days that Disneyland California Adventure is having a special superhero event after hours.
We are not interested in attending this event but wondering how this may affect the daytime crowds in Disneyland and California Adventures. I note Fantasmic is booked to return in March, however is it true they only be showing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday? You are correct - it looks as if Fantasmic! Actually, there doing it every night now. My husband and were there Monday thru Thursday this week. There were 2 shows every night we were there. Also, one of the cast members confirmed that it will be every night.
No news on refurbishments for September at this time, but we do update our schedule of refurbishments as soon as we hear anything. Lived in SoCal for 20 years and always went Labor Day Now living in the Midwest and trying to make a trade show in Vegas in September coincide with a Disneyland side trip, but not being a "local" anymore, am unsure of September hours and events, specifically Fantasmic.

I haven't seen any announcement of it, but I know they did it in previous years. I am hoping not to have any extra ticketed events during our stay. We still don't have our dates lined up yet-- trying to make all the schedules match!

We just lost my dad last year so I want her to go back to her favorite and nostalgic place Their honeymoon was in Disneyworld. I didn't want to put our trip of until Summer because of the heat and the crowds will be even worse especially with Galaxy's Edge rumored to open in the Summer instead of the fall.
