I feel bad for Ritsuka. As I said in the previous review, I like all of the minor characters. There was a bit of Kio in this volume, and I like him. I just want more of them together. I really enjoy them. Now, off to the next volume.
Finally, Volume 9! After 4 years! So, my vague memories of the events in Volume 8: Ritsuka and Soubi were at the academy, and Seimei and his sacrifice Nisei had attacked. This volume has Nisei being held hostage by Soubi and Ritsuka, while Kio is being held hostage by a fighting pair called Bloodless, in league with Seimei.
They fight by bringing out their opponents' worst fears Ritsuka must face his true feelings about his brother. As usual, the art is gorgeous, although I felt the way some c Finally, Volume 9! As usual, the art is gorgeous, although I felt the way some characters were drawn was uneven. There were several cute moments between Soubi and Ritsuka.
I had forgotten about many of the other characters, and there were two bonus stories featuring characters not in this volume. All in all I am glad the wait is over and look forward to volume 10 I have an advanced copy to read! Loveless has been picked up by Viz. We also get some nice backstory for Kio, from when he first met Soubi, and a little bit of an idea of why Kio doesn't like Seimei, even though he hasn't met him.
There are two cute side-stories at the end. The se Yay! The second story is of Yuiko going around asking students their opinion of English now being taught starting in elementary schools instead of middle schools in Japan. They are both cute little stories. Nov 06, Sophie rated it liked it Shelves: manga-in-german , manga. Now that I've thought about it my main problem with this series that it doesn't seem very planned.
It's all over the place, with characters popping up all of a sudden and some plotlines are never really finished. Of course, that may all change later, but the main plot is dragging on and on and on. I still like the basic idea, and I love the way the different facets and faces of love are getting explored here.
It's a pretty dark book, something I wouldn't have guessed at the start. But I hope the Now that I've thought about it my main problem with this series that it doesn't seem very planned. But I hope the mangaka knows where she's going with this. Nov 02, scarlettraces rated it really liked it Shelves: manga-manhwa , loaners. The Septimal Moon chapters continue, although there's only two in this volume, but they are weighty.
The more plot that's revealed, the more mysteries get uncovered. It seems a bit random, but it's still totally intriguing. I especially liked seeing more of Kio and Soubi's early "friendship. The chapter at the end featuring my other favorite Yuiko, talking about English being taught in Japanese schools is super cute. Mar 16, Olivia rated it really liked it Shelves: manga.
So much happiness when I found out that Loveless had been picked up by Viz Media. It's been about two years since I read vol. From what I could remember I liked the way this volume continued with the story but my favorite part was the art. Kouga's stark style is extremely pleasing to the eye. Yeah, this was a pretty huge letdown for me as a fan. The art was rushed, the storyline was perfunctory and even the characters seemed stiff as cardboard.
I don't know what happened to the magic in this volume, but I hope it comes back. Things seem to get stranger and stranger with no real rhyme or reason. Nov 19, locrian rated it liked it Recommended to locrian by: gecko. Shelves: genre-comix , genre-mysterious. Unfortunately it took so long I didn't quite remember what was going on before. Ritsuka isn't quite as interesting as I remember him, I think he's become less interesting as he's matured.
Beautiful illustrations, though. Sep 18, Wendy Schuffert rated it it was amazing. That was so good. I still love Ritsuka and even though he's blind now I still love Ritsu Minami-sensei and wow Kio and and his twin I can't wait for the next volume.
I loved The Great Yuri. Sep 24, Vee rated it really liked it. I missed this series. I've read much further online, but somehow having it in front of me made this particular volume much less confusing. I hope that Viz Media releases volumes in a quicker fashion than Tokyo Pop did before going out of business or whatever it was that happened to them. I was so happy to find that they started this serrie again.
But I was wondering I have bought book 9 and for some reason it seems that the story at the end of book 8 dosen't fallow the story in book 9. Is it just me or is that how the books are. Thanks guys, I was so happy to find that they started this serrie again. Thanks guys, View 2 comments. Sep 17, Miss Susan rated it liked it. Nothing much progress in story.
